About Dr. Maggi, FACS
Dr. Sergio Pasquale Maggi is a board-certified plastic surgeon by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
In 2007 Dr. Maggi was accepted into the prestigious Maliniac Circle. All members of this group of highly dedicated plastic surgeons have personally committed up to $100,000.00 to the Plastic Surgery Research Foundation (PSEF). All Maliniac Circle members of The Circle have donated this large amount of money as a testament to their intent to assure the future and continued excellence of plastic surgery worldwide. Dr. Maggi is one of fewer than under 100 plastic surgeons world-wide who have demonstrated this level of dedication.
Dr. Maggi has had training both as a plastic surgery resident, and then followed by one year fellowship in hand and microsurgery at the prestigious Washington University Medical Center. This level of training has offered Dr. Maggi one of the best educations in plastic surgery possible. During a decade of surgical training after completing medical school Dr. Maggi has performed hundreds of cosmetic, and reconstructive breast procedures. He has also co-authored numerous scientific articles in the surgical literature, both as a National Institutes of Health (NIH) Research Fellow, as well as an active research investigator during his many years of surgical residency training. Also during his years in private practice Dr. Maggi participated as a clinical investigator for the FDA Trials on Silicon Breast Implants. He has also received certification to use Silicon Implants from the only two FDA approved breast implant manufacturers in the U.S. - Mentor Corp., and the Natrelle (Inamed) Corp.
When in private practice Dr. Maggi founded the Austin Plastic Surgery Center. Then a short 5 years later he created one of the few fully accredidated Dual-OR surgery centers in the Austin that is only dedicated to cosmetic surgery- the Austin Surgery Center.
While still serving as director of the Austin Plastic Surgery Center, Dr. Maggi developed the Breast Enhancement Institute (BEI)TM in 2007. By forming BEI, Dr. Maggi felt a strong statement is made of his practice's dedication and success in this area of plastic surgery.
Dr. Maggi further explains: "forming BEI-AustinTM was the natural 'next-step' for us."
He feels that after many years of developing one of the most successful cosmetic surgery practices in central Texas creating a sister practice specific to cosmetic surgery of the breast sent a strong statement of his practice's level of commitment, significant amount experience, and successful results in breast enhancement procedures.
Dr. Maggi further explains: "This group of patients, in particular, are looking for the highest quality and has a strong desire to be assured that they are going somewhere that has experience, a true dedication to detail, and many very happy patients. Since we can offer all that, and more, we felt that creating BEI was a natural next step in our practice's development."
